The ancient writings across religion say that what you are today is on account of what you did in your previous birth. It is Karma for some . it is a generally accepted principle of Indian life. We easily blame fate for all our ills shortcomings and sufferings and seldom thank the stars or god or the deeds of previous birth for all our good fortunes.
I had an elder with whom i used to argue and seldom accepted the sayings without an argument. On Karma also i used to argue for that he gave quite a few example.
If you build your body in your young age you will have good posture and carriage all through your life
If you study well and work hard you will be materially successful in life
if you plan and execute well you will have few failures.
Be in time and you will never miss the train
These are the fruits of your efforts which are material , palpable and happen only when you do something prior to what you want to happen
Like wise you do good things you will get the fruits in this birth itself and you need not wait for the next birth
Well i was really sceptical.
Why one eventhough god believing and praying suffer through out the life. The adult life ,marriage and children become hell and one is financially weak also
is this the deed of the previous birth the Karma
when i am so poor and rotting in this shit life how can i think of good things ,do good deeds help others and think of god and thank him
if i don't do this this will be my KARMA OF THIS janam and i will be born again and suffer even more, why is this
who will come along and take me to the path of belief and at the same time give strength to face the current situation and prepare for the next janmam or rebirth
well i believe there is god and he has a very tight schedule. He prioritise and has a scale of devotion.
he takes care of those selfless people who had dedicated everything to him
then he thinks of the next who religiously follow the ways of god and live
next he takes care of those who do some good to others without expecting anything
Finally he comes down to the ones who just go through the motion of life like getting up,eating working praying without their heart and mind in any of these actions
Can i blame him for that. then how will we differentiate between the fortunate and the less fortunate
i am still searching within me and outside for an answer

The indian politics from a common man 'perspective
Well there were two disturbing events in the last few weeks'
In Maharashtra two of the big parties haggled over for seat and portfolio allotment over 11 days
On the swearing in day there was mayhem .why do we need this system Why would a few representatives voted on the thin minority of votes of the entire vote bank control the fate of the state and country with such impunity. What is the say the election commission has on the entire proceedings. Are we really mature enough for self governance after all these years of Independence
Karnataka
A cheif minister makes certain changes and effects certain transfers based on supposedly a rational basis. Suddenly there is a revolt and all the changes and transfers are reversed .not only that some of the ministers are also asked to step down .is it not a shame that CM cannot do some act under the ambit of constitutional and state laws,Sheer muscle and money power is the only thing that counts in Indian politics. On top it the CM instead of resigning to keep his self image and esteem pitifully cried in a national TV and is still clinging to the chair
where ARE WE HEADING, WHO WILL BELIEVE IN THIS SYSTEM
WHERE IS THE MESSIAH TO WAKE US ALL UP

The fear of growing old
i for one and like all fear growing old. i know i cant remain Young by body and soul. i need to grow old ,wither and vanish but is the process smooth, is it fraught with expected and unexpected twists and turns
it is not the economic security that i am worried about it is much more than that eventhough economic security is must to see through the later part of ones life. it is not like the west; where human life is valued and the older ,the more value and they never were felt a drag on the country in all its aspects including the siblings children and spouse. In the Indian context it is very difficult to visualise. there is already so much spasm that i wonder how the same will be bridged
i am more concerned as to how i will be looked at, wrinkled skin not so bright eyes may be hearing impaired and some organs failing . i will certainly need someone who will talk to me feel for me ;will my children have time for that. will the society care for that ;will i be just another number in the census statistics a faceless useless drag on every body ;will i seek asylum in an old age house.will the world stop by me and say hello; will the young help me cross the road and the motorist slow down a bit to let me cross or curse me ""here is yet another asshole why cant they sit at home or wherever"" will the story of the old coconut shell cup repeat itself.
well i dont know i am too scared to think and visualise. yes i know what i want .if i lived longer years i may have very little money but no illness please .today treatment is costly and no body has time . i dont want to feel miserable and i would like to die without much of a fuss
till then life is mine and i like to live it to the hilt. i would like to meet more people remember them keep them in loop ;yeah i have an axe to grind they will come and see me when i am dead and they will know that i had gone up and make things ready and comfortable when they come looking for me there

What moved me
It happened last Thursday ,i was sitting on the floor and was reading the LOST SYMBOL. Suddenly my attention got diverted to a small black ant. it was carrying on its front legs a dead black ant. This ant was bigger than the one that is carrying it.The small ant was lifting it and was running here and there At times it would put it down for while and scurry away .Again it would come back and lift the dead ant. it sort of made me feel small and sad. here is a small ant caring for the dead and i hardly know where it is taking it in the room ;is it taking it to some safe dark corner, is it trying to save the body by taking it away or is it saving it from other big insects that would eat it;; well that is any body's guess
But what made me feel small and sad was we as human being do not attach much value to fellow live human beings much less when they are dead and a small ant is taking one of its dead one
i wish i could have videoed the entire thing and posted
when are we going to really grow up

What i cant take in my own city
There are quite a few things i just cant take in my own city.
I would like to list a few and share with you
In a public transport it is so repulsive to see a guy sitting in front of you on the window side spit the panparag paste (a kind of beetle nut mix)every now and then and you fear some particle might get carried in the air and get deposited on your shirt
The guys standing in the public transport rubbing and resting their hips and backside on the person sitting on the aisle.these guys cant stand straight holding on to the upper railing or the suspended supports
the evergreedy auto wallas asking double the rate and knowing all one can do is just rant and rave
a two ,four wheeler overtaking on the extreme right blocking the onbound traffic and at times endangering some pedestrians
The traffic police who let you drive a two wheeler without helmet for days and suddenly one day stops you and either fines or takes a bit to let go
the car and two wheeler drivers driving with their head lights on virtually blinding you
all those people who required to be bribed to do their duty.
Jay walking without a care in an narrow road
dirty rusted tankers carrying drinking water for the masses
yet there are many things i like that is why i am still rooted here

I wonder Why
i always wonder about things and as to why they should be like that
like the tooth paste tube
why should it be tubes. to squeeze and take the required quantity What happens when it reaches the sad soggy state. we twist turn cut to take the leftover. why cant the paste be in small containers .you can have small containers for each of the family members (and each can have their choice of flavour) and all you have to do is to just dip your brush and go on when you reach the bottom of the small container all you have to do is to run the brush around to take the entire stuff left in .Later these containers could be used to keep small things like screws ,small nuts and other stuff
To give away a rupee
well i always carry some change and when i see some apparently destitute on the street i decide that i will give a rupee coin but itry fishing out a fifty paise coin.At the same time i dont hesitate to tip a waiter for a cup of tea and the tip is almost half the price of the cup of tea. why is this. It is not only with me I had checked around with many of my acquaintances ;they also do so but could not explain IS IT THAT I NEED TO BE RATED HIGH BY THE WAITER AND I DONT CARE FOR THE BLESSINGS OF THE DESTITUTE ON THE STREET
The festival times
i always wonder why the prices of foodstuff mostly perishables should hit the roof on festival days.it is certain that the market on that day will absorb more quantity than on regular normal days.We all know that a certain quantity comes to the market and gets distributed to the house hold through local shops, street vendors and door deliverers.Still some quantity is always left over.On the festival day same mostly more quantity comes to the market but the price at the end user is twice at times thrice the price he paid the day before. On the festival day say flower would be purchased by most and the chances of unsold flower will be almost Nil,nevertheless the price of flower is almost prohibitive and some quantity (more than the normal day residue)end of the day remain unsold and the same is sold next day at half the price.if pricing had been ok all the flowers would have been sold on the day it self.
still the systems of high price on festive days prevails
My parents
oh they were cool When i was one year old they were just 26 years old At that time they were my universe their choice is my wish and they played to my whims also it was all so wonderful and i always yearned to be with them
today i am 20 and they are 46 But today the difference is not in the years only what is cool to me is ugh to them. what is polite to them sucks me. i am more comfortable on the road then inside the home i grew up My dear parents look like aliens
On schooldays i would love my mamma to stuff the food now i want it laid on the table IS THIS THE SIGN OF GROWING INDEPENDENT SELF THE GENERATION GAP

the recent southindian US OBSESSION
i have been interacting with a lot of people and also came across many of them with a single most important notion that they should go to USA.Their son should be employed there and the dauthter should get married to a well behaved non BUDS drinking boy from the same caste who has a green card and house. The grand chindren should be born there and the parents of either side should go for delivery. In every social gathering i hear that ""Saranya is going to Seatle, her son has called her"" i am going to Nebraska my daugher is expecting in Jan""
well iam not averse or against people going to US but today it has become an obession that it sucks. if you dont have a chance of going to THIS MECCA you are a poor little HO...
It is not that i have not gone or have a fair chance of going ;but why this has become a big thing
it is alos a pointer for us to make our every city and small town to be as systematic ,people free places . Well that could be a distant dream...........
